We are located at 1668 County Road 12, Picton, ON K0K 2T0, Canada. Just follow the signs to Isaiah Tubbs resort (beside us) or to Sandbanks Provincial Park (1km down the road) or to Quiddity (a shop selling art and artifacts in front of us). The cottage is equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, freezer, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, glassware, bakeware, mixer, mini food processor, coffee maker, coffee grinder and slow cooker. The kitchen is large with table and chairs. There is also a separate dining room. Gas bbq on the deck.
We have satellite TV upstairs and another television downstairs in the finished lower level. This TV would be useful for those bringing their x-box or other video games. In the upstairs living room, there is also a DVD player, and a VHS player. There is a double sofa-bed in the living room.
There are two bedrooms upstairs: the master (queen bed) has a 3-piece ensuite, the second bedroom has twin beds and the master bathroom is down the hall (4 pieces). Bath towels and linens are provided. There are two chaise loungers and 4 Muskoka chairs by the waterside. There are additional resin chairs for the deck and umbrellas.
Downstairs, there is a fully insulated, divided rec room with a queen bed on one side and a double on the other. There is also a single bed there as well as a double sofa bed. All beds in the house have new mattresses and bedding except 1 of the twin beds which is very comfortable.
We have steam-cleaned, painted and scrubbed , so it is very tidy and fresh. Our next step is to plant some flowers and tidy the gardens.
We have Scrabble, Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Chinese Checkers, Cribbage, Poker chips, Bocce Ball, Croquet, Horshoes for your enjoyment.
You will want to be sure and pack beach towels, and all food and paper and soap products. (#4 coffee filters)
The cottage is on a septic system, so single ply tissue is the best. We have our own well which offers great drinking water. We will review with you some of the water management techniques used at the cottage to ensure you don't run out of water or flood the septic. Mostly, water management means not flushing until you must, and spacing out use of washer and dishwasher throughout the day so that the septic can keep up.
If you have a toddler, there is a high chair. stroller, playpen, baby monitor, splash pool, change table, and a booster seat style high chair. Also a few nightlights. Please bring any special bedding for the playpen, or bring bed-rails if you would like to use the single beds to protect the kids from falling out of bed.
If you like, bring your bicycles (or rent some nearby). Bring your kayaks, windsurfing/sailboarding equipment too and games. The lake is absolutely perfect for water polo and water volleyball! Horseback riding is down the road. There are several bicycle paths and we have a cycling map from the Bloomfield Cycle Shop.
